COVINGTON, Tenn. (AP) - The case of an 18-year-old missing in Tipton County and found dead along a rural road is being investigated by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
James Jones Jr. was last seen alive Tuesday night at a gas station in Covington, and his car was found nearby and empty the next morning. Chief Donna Turner of the Tipton County Sheriff's Department told WMC-TV (http://bit.ly/NTcDci) that evidence of foul play was found in the vehicle.
The TBI and local law enforcement launched a search for him Wednesday with trained rescue teams and a canine unit.
Authorities have sent the body to Memphis for an autopsy.
