TIPTON COUNTY, Tenn. (FOX13) -

A massive search for a missing 18-year-old Tipton County man ended just before 8 p.m. Wednesday after James Jones. Jr.'s body was found in a rural eastern county road, a county spokesperson said.

In a news release, Mr. Jones' body was found on Lindsey Road Covington.

Mr. Jones was last seen since Tuesday night.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating his death. Tipton County Medical Examiner Dr. Buffy Cook has requested an autopsy to be performed at The Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

A search into the disappearance of Mr. Jones started Wednesday after his bloodied car was found a dawn.

His Nissan Altima was found in front of a garage on Highway 179 near Covington, a short distance from his home. The amount of blood found in his car was of concern. At the time of the car's discovery, the sheriff's department said it was enough to suspect foul play.

The Tipton County Sheriff's Office has been interviewing everyone who knew Mr. Jones or saw him.
