Pedestrian hit by vehicle dies at hospital
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (FOX13) -

A pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle on Getwell Road near I-240 in midtown Memphis Wednesday evening has died, police spokeswoman Sgt. Karen Rudolph said.

The pedestrian was hit by a vehicle sometime around 6:15 p.m.

The hit and run victim was taken to The MED, where doctors pronounced the victim deceased.

Fort Smith man pleads guilty to machine gun charge

FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) - A Fort Smith man faces up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to illegal possession of a machine gun.

The Southwest Times Record reports that 24-year-old Ryan Scott Doughty pleaded guilty to the charge Monday and faces sentencing at an as yet undetermined date.
