In a last ditch effort to save their school, students at George Washington Carver High School staged a peaceful protest Tuesday morning inside their school.

Carver High is one of nearly two dozen schools on the short list to be closed.

Memphis City Councilman Jim Strickland said his city has too many free standing bike-lane signs and that they contribute to blight.

The newest addition to the Southaven Police Department's Crime-fighting squad is a Skycop, one of those trailers with the cameras and the lights on them.

Southaven PD will be positioning the SkyCop in areas with a lot of shoppers. The idea is to make criminals think twice.
