Former Shelby Co. Commissioner John Willingham passes away

On the eve of the 36th annual Memphis In May International Barbeque Contest, former barbeque champion and Shelby County Commissioner John Willingham has passed away.

Mr. Willingham was 80. He would have been 81 on Sunday,  May 19.

The Shelby County Election Commission unanimously voted against Cordova's Voice petition for a referendum to de-annex from Memphis.
