UT's Smokey to 'sign' book about him

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The University of Tennessee's blue tick hound Smokey will be on hand for his book signing.

The famous pooch joins co-authors Tom Mattingly and Earl Hudson at 2 p.m. Friday at the University Center Bookstore.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say seven people are recovering from injuries suffered after an overnight storm blew through the southeast.

Mississippi Emergency Management Agency spokesman Greg Flynn says there were two injuries in Tallahatchie County, and one each in Scott and Coahoma counties.
