11 arrested in NE Arkansas child rape, porn case

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Law enforcement officers have arrested 11 people in northeast Arkansas on rape and child pornography charges involving a 12-year-old girl.

Jonesboro Police Sgt. Lyle Waterworth told reporters that local, state and federal officers arrested seven adults and four juveniles in various cities and towns in the region on Tuesday.

Hostess Brands Inc. won approval Tuesday to sell off the last of its major cake and bread brands, bringing the total proceeds from its liquidation to about $860 million.

A U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge in New York approved the two deals, said Hostess spokeswoman Anita-Marie Laurie.

Dyersburg police charged a 16-year-old Dyersburg youth with arson and burglary following the investigation into a number of suspicious fires.

The police department also added additional charges of arson and burglary to Dillon McKinney, who was charged April 5, for the arson at Dyersburg High School.
