Michael Bay Describes Transformers 4: We're Embarking On A New Trilogy
Michael Bay has a reality check for anyone who thinks Transformers 4 is a reboot. Which to be fair was a realistic explanation after the lead actor in the films changed from Shia LaBeouf to Mark Wahlberg on the casting sheet.But the man behind the camera has pronounced the new Transformers movie to be the start of a bonafide NEW trilogy. No we're not kidding. Here's what Bay wrote on his website:"Transformers 4, is not a reboot. That word has been floating around on the net. This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago. The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different than the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy."
However, even though Bay basically has said the plan is for there to be two new movies - Bay has previously said this will definitely be the last of the Transformers film that he personally will direct. A smart move on Bay's part in our opinion. No one wants to be the guy that helmed six Transformers film no matter how entertaining they are.We wonder if Marky Mark will stay for the three-peat?
