A resolution to delay the merger of Memphis and Shelby County schools died during a school board session Monday evening.
The thought was to avoid a scenario where this year is spent merging the districts, and next year is spent splitting them back up if municipal schools are created.
Memphis police say they arrested a man that dragged an officer over the weekend.
Officers were trying to arrest say Irvin Guy on Sunday in Frayser after a woman claimed someone tried to steal her purse. They say while they were investigating, Guy drove up in a vehicle but refused to cooperate.
Time has cooled down the tempers for the Memphis Police Association and the Wharton administration has launched a new anti-crime initiative. So maybe, both parties do want to sign a deal.
