MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -

A man convicted in a Memphis bank robbery has won a small-change victory from an appellate court.

In a ruling announced Thursday, the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals left intact the conviction and the 52-month sentence of Calvin Rene Calhoun Jr.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas Medicaid officials say they're no longer proposing cuts to nursing home care and three other areas after lowering the program's expected shortfall to $61 million.

The state Department of Human Services last year had predicted a $138 million shortfall in the program.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -

The Arkansas Senate has voted to ban abortions if a fetal heartbeat is detected, a move that would prohibit the procedure as early as six weeks into a pregnancy.

By a 26-8 vote, the Senate approved legislation that would require a test to detect a fetal heartbeat before an abortion is performed.
