Over 500 students and faculty at Westside Middle School were briefly evacuated Wednesday morning around the start of the school day after a reported gas leak.

Amber Alert issued for missing Tenn. boy

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A 2-year-old missing from Middle Tennessee has been found safe after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert for him.

Cael Whitehead was recovered safely Wednesday afternoon, more than 150 miles from his home in Houston County northwest of Nashville.

School leader retiring in McComb

Former Alcoa coach sentenced in sex crimes

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A former Alcoa High School softball coach has headed off his sexual offenses trial by changing his pleas.
