Ex-NY Mayor Koch set to leave hospital

NEW YORK (AP) - Former New York Mayor Ed Koch (kahch) is doing much better and is scheduled to be released from the hospital Monday.

He was admitted last week to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital with pneumonia and the flu.

Koch said through a spokesman on Friday that he was looking forward to celebrating his 88th birthday this week. It's on Wednesday.
