SEARCY, Ark. (AP) - An historical marker noting a Civil War skirmish is to be placed near Searcy to note a Confederate victory over the Union.
The marker is to be dedicated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Gum Springs Fire Department on Highway 267 South.
The marker will commemorate fighting at Des Arc Bayou in 1863.
