Okla. Comm. Murphy named to power pool committee

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Dana Murphy has been elected vice president of the Arkansas-based Southwest Power Pool's Regional State Committee.

The Little Rock-based committee plays an advisory role regarding the region's future electric power grid and electrical service.

Baptist, Vanderbilt collaborate on cancer care

Andersonville to begin subscription fire service

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A volunteer fire department in Anderson County says due to a lack of funds, it will be converting to a subscription-based operation starting next year.

The Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department serves 9,000 residents in a 68-square-mile area that is about 20 miles northwest of Knoxville, close to the Norris Dam State Park.
