SUMMIT, Miss. (AP) - After four years on the drawing board and a little more than a year of actual construction, Southwest Mississippi Community College's new Regional Workforce Training Center is about to become a reality.

The projected finishing date of the facility is Oct. 22.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - The city of Hattiesburg has purchased four new buses for its Hub City Transit system.

Purchased with federal funds, 3 of the buses will be used for the city's paratransit Demand Response program, which allows senior citizens and residents with disabilities to schedule bus rides free of charge.

BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - Biloxi police say a 9-year-old D'Iberville boy was hit and killed while crossing U.S. Highway 90 with his family.
