Court hearing in West Tenn. abduction-slaying

BOLIVAR, Tenn. (AP) - A court hearing has been scheduled for a woman charged with being involved in the deaths of a West Tennessee woman and her 14-year-old daughter.

Teresa Mayes is expected to appear before a judge Monday on murder charges in the deaths of Jo Ann Bain and her daughter Adrienne.

Miss. Blues Trail to honor Rufus Thomas

BYHALIA, Miss. (AP) - Memphis music pioneer and Mississippi native Rufus Thomas will be honored Monday with a marker on the Mississippi Blues Trail during a ceremony in Byhalia.

Thomas, a native of Cayce, Miss., and who died at age 84 in 2001, was 1 of Memphis' most colorful and well-known entertainers.

Corn Mazes open as harvest season celebrated

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - It's time to get lost in the cornfield.

The Tennessee Institute of Agriculture says there are corn mazes across the state.

Earthquake protection now focus at Bono Lake
