Natchez to improve wastewater plant

NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - The city of Natchez is making $1 million in improvements to the city's wastewater treatment plant in an effort to save money in the long run.

Work under way at Natchez Transit facility

NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - Work is under way at the site of the future Natchez transit facility.

The Natchez Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/Ote3M9 ) crews with Paul Jackson Construction of Brookhaven are removing a fence, concrete slab and shed from the site, formerly the location of AB Motor Company.

DeSoto 911 panel approves $3.9M budget

Civil War battlefields get funds to buy land

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Eight Civil War battlefields, including three in Kentucky and Tennessee, are receiving more than $2.4 million in grants to help with land acquisition.
