There are several reasons why I would like to be Memphis' Biggest Loser. The top two starts with my father and my daughter along with a group of girls I work with at Carnes Elementary School call S.T.A.R.S. which means Striving Toward Awareness and Respect for Self. My father had a stroke December 2, 2007 which was before his 82nd birthday. This man walked six days a week and sometimes twice a day for as long as I've know him. The doctors said that his survival rate was less then 10%. He has been home for two weeks minus a hospital bed, trachea, feeding tube, and diapers. Part of this is due to his life style. One that I am eager to adopt now that I am approaching 50. I believe the Biggest Loser Contest will get me seriously on this road. The other is my daughter and a dynamic group of young ladies I work with. I would love to be an example to them. Not just telling them about health and nutrition, but living it as well.
